Meghan Murphy is a journalist, writer, podcaster, and longtime women’s rights advocate. She founded Feminist Current in 2012, which became the first Canadian feminist website and podcast to mount a challenge against gender identity ideology. She testified at the Canadian Senate against bill C-16, Canada‘s gender identity legislation, in 2017.
She has since toured the world, warning about the harms of gender identity indoctrination.
In 2018, Meghan was banned from Twitter for saying men aren’t women, and for “misgendering” a male predator. Her account was reinstated in 2022, four years after the permanent ban. Meghan has since become an outspoken defender of free speech and civil liberties, launching The Same Drugs Podcast in 2020 as a means to further explore heterodox views of culture, politics, and society.
Born and raised in Vancouver, she left Canada in January 2021, concerned about Justin Trudeau‘s liberal governments encroaching crackdown on free speech and the constitutional rights of Canadians.
